Rated 4 out of 5 by from Peace of ease For a first time mom I was bombarded of what is "needed" for baby so the Hubs and I bought this model. It was the only AngelCare offered at our Walmart. Also it was on clearance. For the first few months of our LO in her own bed we used the movement pad. Both baby and parents lost sleep from the false alarms. Once our LO started rolling and moved in her sleep, we unplugged the pad from the unit. Awwww the peace was magnificent. Still able to hear her stir and wake by her playing with her crib toys.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It is low cost simple to operate Okay, it is low cost and simple to operate, but not backwards compatible with the other very similar models. If you can spare the cash go for the next model else this unit is fine. The charging corde is a real pain (the others have a very nice docking station). It can select between three separate remote units for some reason (for if you have three base stations in one room) this feature selects on the left "wing" and is not marked verry well and is therefore switched by accident leaving the unit "off".

I have the AC601 unit. We want to use the parent and nursery units without the sensor pad. However, when we turn the units on, minus the pad, the units squeal and beep. How do I turn off the sensor pad option on my monitors?

Asked by: Erin82
Thank you for contacting Angelcare. Here are the instructions on how to deactivate the sensor pad feature. Plug the Sensor Pad into the back of the Nursery Unit Switch the Nursery and Parent Unit ON Ensure that the Nursery and Parent Unit are both on the same channel (A, B or C) On the back of the Nursery Unit there are 3 options: Sound & Movement: This setting lets you monitor baby’s movement and also hear a constant TIC sound every few seconds from the Parent Unit TIC Off: This setting lets you monitor baby’s sounds and movement without the constant TIC sound Sound Only: This setting lets you monitor baby’s sounds but NOT movements or TIC Depending on whether you wish to monitor Sound & Movement with or without the TIC choose either Sound & Movement or TIC Off Sincerely,

Once I turn the parent unit on, it starts beeping. Just small little ticking noises every 5 seconds. Why is it doing that? Both the nursery unit and parent unit are plugged in so I know they aren't low on battery.

Asked by: MamaMox18
Have a nice day Thank you for contacting the helpline. We think that the constant beeps that you are hearing from the Parent Unit only is the TIC function. This indicates that your monitor is detecting movement without physically looking at the Parent Unit screen. Some parents love this sound as they find it reassuring, however not all do so this is an optional function so you can monitor baby's movements without this. To set your monitor to detect movement without the TIC beeps, when looking at the back of the Nursery Unit move the wing on the left hand side to the middle position – TIC OFF. Your monitor will now continue to detect your baby’s movement without the constant beeps. If you need any further advice please contact Customer Service : info@angelcarebaby.com

We use this monitor for sound only at this point. If we were to place a second nursery unit in another bedroom would we be able to use one parent unit or would each nursery unit require it’s own parent unit?

Asked by: MelL
Thank you for contacting the helpline. Unfortunately you can't buy a Nursery Unit that will work with your actual AC601. You need to buy a completely new monitor to get the other room covered. Because you have an AC601 you can buy any Angeclare Monitor, as you can manually change the channel on the AC601 if any interference should occur.

Can I use my Angelcare Monitor AC601 without the sensor pad?

Asked by: Gerdie
Yes, the AC601 can be used as a sound only monitor. The right wing would need to be set to sound only instead of sound and movement.

We have the AC601 model. The warning beep and alarm take 45seconds to go off instead of 20. What are we doing wrong?

Asked by: Lorna0405
It could be a couple of things. 1. if it is taking a little longer to alarm after you remove baby from the crib it could be the mattress recovering so the sensor pad is still detecting movement. 2. If you are standing next to the crib waiting for the sensor pad to alarm, the sensor pad could be detecting your movement. 3. You may need to increase the sensitivity level of the sensor pad. If you would like more information please contact our customer service team by phone or email.
