Angelcare’s Baby Breathing Monitor with Video tracks activity and reports directly to concerned parents, giving them the ultimate peace of mind. The AC417’s touchscreen movement, video and audio monitor offers the only wireless breathing Sensor Pad in the market and features activity tracking, which reports on baby's movement levels. Rest assured knowing that you will be alerted if no movement is detected after 20 seconds. Ideal for newborns, and those starting to reach and explore. Use without the Sensor Pad for those early toddler years. With Angelcare, you’re not alone in this new adventure called parenthood.

The Movement Sensor Pad can be used with most baby mattresses. However, it cannot be used with memory foam mattresses or mattresses with a hollow frame.

Monitoring of premature baby or babies considered to be at risk, should be carried out only under the supervision of a Doctor or Health Professional. This monitor should NOT be used as a medical device, nor as a device to prevent Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved the AngelCare Monitor! I received this product for free to test from WeeSpring's Parent Panel and was super impressed! Whenever I was pregnant I bought the Owlet (299.00) the price tag hurt and when I used it on my child I was not impressed! Whenever I got sent the AngelCare system shortly after, though, I must say it is impressive! I loved the video monitor part which is not offered by owlet! I love that It is wireless and is underneath the baby not on it! Not to mention the touch screen and wall mount options! I can also use it when he gets older! Two way talk and night vision! This is a must have for parents!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Ok, buuuuuut... (don't use a dual sided mattress) Used it in our Playpen and had no issues. When Baby moved to crib, the issues began. The movement monitor went off regularly with false alarms. Their website said to put a 1/4" board undernear the mattress. So I get and cut the plywood to put under there. Still False alarms. Check their troubleshoot and find that the dual sided mattress is not compatible with the sensor pad. Most mattresses nowadays are dual sided, so the sensor unit is virtually useless. We're lucky our kid sleeps through the night at 6 months, but we're not sleeping because the alarm is going off quite a few times throughout the night with false alarms.Everything else about the system is great, but the sensor pad is a huge let down.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Some great features but could be better Love the sensitivity of this monitor, audio is great and the temperature monitor and indicator is a nice feature for making sure baby's room is not too warm/cold for her. The movement sensor was too thick for the mattress we have so we were not able to use that much but for peace of mind it is definitely a nice feature to have. I felt as a video monitor the picture could be better/clearer but we care mostly using in a dark room so the picture is not going to be the best under those conditions. Overall, it's a useful monitor to use for watching/listening to baby sleep.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from do not waste your money I received this monitor for my baby shower. We had to buy an attachment so the camera could actually point in the crib, it is VERY POORLY designed. Furthermore, recently, the monitor fell 3 feet off the counter on to the floor and the screen went black. I was upset and called customer service... they told me it wasn't covered and had the b*lls to give me $14 LOL?!!! I do not recommend to anyone, please do not waste your money. Angelcare should stand behind their product and care about their customers but that is clearly not the case. I will purchase another brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for a peace of mind! I received this monitor about a week ago and it has been an absolute lifesaver! I have a home business/studio upstairs while my little one's room is downstairs. It was always impossible to get work done because I was always so stressed to leave him napping alone downstairs. The monitor was perfect because i knew he was safe, breathing, and I could hear and see him. He also slept longer because I wasn't going in to check on him which wakes him up. Love it!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wanted to love this but couldn't get it set up I couldn't use this because I couldn't get it mounted in a way that I could see my son's whole crib. His crib is in a corner, and putting it on either wall cut off part of the crib. It seems to need a wider angle lens? We ended up using another brand that has a very wide angle lens and takes in the whole crib and most of the room. I do love the movement sensor feature and the built-in thermometer. Would be great for the right arrangement.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product! I got a chance to try this monitor as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel, and I am glad I got to, my husband and I love this monitor. Being a new mom I worry about everything now and with some of the features this monitor has, it's taken away some of the worry. Obviously I love being able to see my little one when I have her laying down and sleeping. being able to see the temperature in the room really helps me when dressing her for bed. We don't use the sensor pad right now, we think it's a great feature but our baby sleeps in the bassinet of her pack and play so there is no mattress to put it under. Once we move her to the crib we will use it, but until then we are glad the sensor pad is optional in using the monitor as a whole.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not worth the money This is our second angelcare monitor the first one wouldn’t work at all so we returned it for this model. We bought the system less than a year ago and our monitor overheated after only being on for 15 mins. Now only views half the screen. The sounds detectors has been off since purchase as well. Baby could be talking or crying and it won’t turn on but a car drives by and it clicks on. Currently pricing out a different monitor.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love this product!!! I absolutly love this product! The reason for rating this product only a four star is due to the lack of directions. The directions lacked a lot of information making it difficult to use the monitor. After playing with it for awhile I figured it out and fell in love with the monitor. It is very convient to use and the picture comes in great. I also love the fact that it tells me the temperature of the room so I know if I need to grab a fan or bundle my baby up. I am so thankful that I got to try this product curtesy of the weeSpring Parent Panel.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ok overall Angelcare customer service have been great. This monitors battery in the sensor pad needs replacing around 5 months, the way you know is that it starts to give false alarms, which is infuriating when all you want is to get as much sleep as possible with a baby , it wakes baby too. Temperature alert will not work if the temperature is already above or below the temp you set while it is paused. The wifi signal cuts out easily and has interference with other devices causing the unit to freeze. The sensor Pad isn’t as good as the old two pad system.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great piece of mind monitor This monitor is great. It took my husband and I a while to set up because the sensor was set to newborn so it kept beeping. Once we fixed it though it was amazing! The temperature feature is awesome because I have 2 kids in one room and now I can see the temperature. The range is rather away then my old monitor. I live in a 2 story condo and it can reach anywhere from the kids room. The quality is perfect. And the battery last a while. Would totally reccomend this product. I got a chance to try this monitor as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wouldn't buy it again Picture quality isn't that great. No pan, tilt just zoom. Was very frustrating to place at the perfect spot to adequately see the child and entire crib. Thermometer is off. Product itself feels light and cheap. Night vision is a good thing to definitely have since you will be hopefully getting your child to sleep at night. Volume is decent. Battery life is pretty good if charged nightly.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible screen We bought this product because it was supposed to do what owlet does but for a fraction of the price. I guess you get what you pay for because we returned it the next day. The touch screen parent device was awful. It wasn't responding to our attempts at accessing the menu or any option on the screen for that matter. The alarm kept going off even after we followed the online instructions. I say online because the one page pamphlet that comes in the box is a poor excuse for instructions. Dont buy this thing. It's not worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really does give you a peace of mind! I absolutely love this product. I didn't have any issues with the set-up and found it quick and easy (the longest part was finding the right placement/angle of the camera). I love that it tracks them while you sleep. As a new mom, I found myself constantly checking to make sure baby boy was breathing and this eliminates the need to do that. I find the monitor itself is worth the price. The picture is clear and I find the temperature and voice feature as an added bonus. I can watch him sleep for hours. I bring baby boy into our room often (nurse or in the morning) so I just have to remember to deactivate the sensors it when I take him from the crib. However, that's super easy and even husband foul proof! Thank you weeSpring Parent Panel for giving me a chance to try this product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent We absolutely love this monitor. It is so easy to use and I love how it has night vision! I love he sensor pad that gives us a sense of ease at night knowing the alarm will sound after 20 seconds! I love being able to talk to her as well! It stays charged multiple days without charging. The only thing we didn't like was how hard it was to understand the instructions. I tried for multiple minutes to turn the sensor off while she was in a pack and play. I received this for free from WEESPRING PARENT PANEL

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great purchase! I am very happy I purchased this monitor. I used the angelcare monitor with my first and it put my mind at ease. We coslept for a while so when he was ready to go in his crib the sensor of was a life saver. This newer version is very nice. I like the large screen and all the different functions. The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 star rating is that the temperature is definitely off. We have our house set at 71 and sometimes it reads 80-81. Which is impossible. Other than that, great monitor!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these features! I received this monitor system from weeSpring parent panel and I'm absolutely loving it. I love that it not only monitors my baby through video, but it also monitors the temperature of the room and movement of my baby. It's made transitioning him from sleeping in our room to sleeping in his room so much easier. the hand held monitor for me is great, all the features it offers is so nice. Being able to zoom in and out is great! I would absolutely recommend this monitor to anyone who asks.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love/Hate Received as a Christmas gift, have been using for 4 months since babe is in her own room and with normal everyday use of the parent unit, checking the graph, using zoom, mic etc..the screen has SO many tiny scratches on it. Again only 4 months of usage.. When emailing Angelcare all they advised was to buy a new parent unit... Decent video quality and sensor pad is peace of mind, but truly unhappy with how easy it scratches! Within a year I'm sure it would be so much worse!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not bad I received this monitor as a gift from the WeeSpring Parent Panel. The sensor under the mattress works very well and gives us peace of mind that other monitors can't provide. However, you can't adjust the camera angle from the monitor and the touch screen is difficult to use. The zoom feature is also less than desireable but the sensor makes up for the minor faults with the camera. I would recommend this product to parents who are willing to pay the premium price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this monitor! This monitor is amazing! Set up took a bit of time and I don't think I would have figured out how to set it up without the instructions (but the instructions were easy to follow). I mostly use this product for monitoring my baby (3 months old) while she's taking naps. It gives me so much peace of mind to be able to check in on her and to know she's okay. My absolute favorite feature is the temperature control. This is so helpful for trying to dress baby for bed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Makes me feel safe when baby is sleeping This monitor has been just what we needed to feel safe while our baby sleeps in her bassinet. My favorite features are the small footprint of the camera and the temperature display, since the temperature is somewhat erratic in our house. I also looked having a separate display so I don't have to use my phone to take a peek at how baby's sleeping. I only rated activity tracking lower because the activity monitor can't be used on any sleeping surface without putting an additional flat surface underneath the mattress. We weren't able to use the movement sensor because of the pack n play bassinet we've been using but it is a slim profile and I could definitely see it putting parents worries at ease. Also, set up was a breeze! Would definitely recommend this product. So grateful for the weespring parent panel for sending me this monitor!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good for piece of mind We received this monitor as a gift at our shower in the summer. When we set it up in the fall after the baby was born the pause button on the camera didn’t work. I was able to return it and reorder another unit but had to go without a unit for a 5 days. My biggest complaint is the clicking noise the parent unit makes even on mute. Our first unit didn’t do that. But after reading other reviews it’s quite common. Extremely annoying for a light sleeper. Second downside is the lack of zoom feature. It’s difficult to place the camera near an outlet at the right height to see the baby in the crib. If you put it too high you can’t reach the pause button for the sensor pad. Main reason I wanted this monitor was because of the breathing sensor pad. Just remember to hit pause on the camera or parent unit before you take baby out of crib!
Date published: 2019-02-14
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth the money Love the video aspect of the monitor. My baby is a loud sleeper so nice being able to see if I do need to go in or not. Or if he’s just fussing but will put himself back to sleep or not. However the breathing monitor is not necessary. Thought I needed it because of societal pressures. Unless your baby has medical problems it’s really not needed. The main reason I don’t like this monitor is the parent unit. It has never charged properly. Has to be in a certain position, doesn’t fully charge over night, doesn’t hold a charge well at all and has started making buzzing sounds so I end up turning it off at night. If I were buying again I’d get a basic monitor that syncs to my phone. It would be so much more convenient only carrying one thing around especially outside. Don’t have to worry about dropping it! All you need is a basic video monitor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this monitor! This monitor is amazing! Set up took a bit of time and was a bit of a process but the instructions were clear and helpful. i mostly have been using this monitor during my baby's naps. Being able to see her and knowing the sensor pad is tracking her provides so much peace of mind. My favorite feature is the temperature control - this is so helpful for dressing baby for bed. Thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel for sending me this monitor!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great picture and no lag! This has been my fifth purchase. Two of my monitors broke after a few months and was not happy with some of the other brands that I had tried. Either the picture was terrible or the wifi brands would lag causing it to sound like we had twins. This monitor has good sound and great night vision which was very important to me. We don’t use the monitor pad as our baby moves all over the crib and it wouldn’t be useful for him at this age.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great clarity! We really enjoy this monitor- it has great clarity and the temperature feature is an excellent bonus. The monitor is visually appealing, innovative and easy to use. The initial alarm upon operating the monitor is frustrating- but short lived! We also appreciate the movement monitor- especially now with our first newborn we realize how much babies move! Thank you Weespring parent panel for the opportunity to try this great product!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great video quality, poor mounting I was excited to try this audio/video monitor because the display looked so clear! It definitely had a much faster refresh rate than a previous monitor I had used. If the baby was in her swing, I could see very clearly if her eyes were open or not. We decided to put the camera in the nursery and found it impossible to mount the camera so that it would focus on the crib. The magnet feature was really cool, but the range of motion wasn't great enough and the only place it would have worked was mounted on the ceiling. The setup was a bit tricky and I needed to have my husband figure out how to turn off the alarms upon initial setup. The touch screen is a bit slow and unresponsive and we decided to use the monitor for when our baby is napping in the swing, as it really wouldn't work on her crib. Thank you WeeSpring Parent Panel for sending us this product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to setup and navigate We are using this monitor with our 6 month old. The video and sound quality using this monitor is far superior than the three other video monitors that we have tried. Easy to hook up and the parent unit is easy to navigate even at 2am. The sleep pad that monitors and provides sleep analysis is cool and is an engineers dream, or lack there of with a 6 month old waking up every four hours for a feeding. Excellent product!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great monitor once you get it mounted! I love the peace of mind this monitor provides! My 2 month old is still sleeping during the night in our room in a pack and play, and since you need to place the monitor between the mattress and a hard surface, we've been using it for naps while she sleeps in her crib. The monitor screen is a great size and the camera is easy to maneuver to adjust the viewing area. I really like that the temperature is displayed both on the screen and on the actual camera unit. My only issue with it (and why I can't give it 5 stars) is that it was a pain to mount on our wall. I ended up having to buy a monitor camera shelf in order to get it to work with our furniture set-up. That aside, I would definitely recommend this monitor and I'm looking forward to using it full time once she's completely in her room! I got a chance to try this monitor as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this monitor! After having a premature baby with our first child, we knew we wanted a monitor that would provide some extra peace of mind with our second. This monitor does just that. The movement tracking and alarm gives us so much comfort, knowing that we can keep an extra close watch on our baby and be alerted about any abnormal activity. The display is clear and easy to use, and the camera works great. We love this monitor!

Is there a list of recommended crib mattresses that can be used with the Angelcare AC417? All mattresses appear to be heading towards memory foam.

Asked by: HPBaby2019
Hello and thank you for your question. We have looked at the Clevamama Mattress and unfortunately, we would not recommend the use of the Sensor Pad this particular mattress, as this could mask the movements of your baby and as a result you may experience false alarms. This is due to the high Reflex Support Foam detailed in the composition of the mattress as below from their website: As we are not the mattress manufacturer we are unable to confirm if the “reflux support foam” composition is of the same type of composition as memory foam. With regards to the actual mattresses, we know that the Sensor Pad will work effectively with a standard hypoallergenic, spring, coil (and spring/coil combined) mattress. We also know that the Sensor Pad will NOT work with a Hollow Framed, Dual Sided, and Memory Foam Mattress; • A Hollow Framed Mattress is mainly a US product, it is basically a number of poles that are fitted together with a tight cover fitted over this. As a result of their being nothing actually inside the mattress (hollow) no movement is transferred down to the Sensor Pad. As a result the monitor may false alarm indicating that baby`s movements are not being detected by the Sensor Pad. • A full Memory Foam or Dual sided Memory Foam Mattress masks the movement of your baby on the surface of the mattress due to the density of the foam and baby`s movements do not transfer down to the Sensor Pad. As a result the monitor may false alarm indicating that baby`s movement is not being detected by the Sensor Pad. We hope that you can understand that unfortunately it is not possible to test the Sensor Pad with this mattress or every type, brand of mattress available within the UK and Ireland due firstly to the sheer volume of mattresses available. Secondly because we do know that many manufacturers, brands will change the internal composition on a regular basis with no notification to improve the product and also at times for cost reasons. As a result it would be impossible to monitor constant internal changes/modifications and therefore we cannot recommend any particular brand for use with the Sensor Pad. We hope that this information is helpful, and thank you for your interest in our Angelcare products.

The thermometer has continuously read higher than what the thermostat is set on... like 8 degrees higher, you can tell by just standing in his room it’s not that warm. Is there a way to calibrate it?

Asked by: AShirey
First let me thank you for choosing Angelcare Monitors. We are sorry to learn you are experiencing difficulties with your monitor. Usually a difference of 2-3 degrees is normal but not 8 degrees. Does the parent unit display the right temperature or does it read the same as on the camera? If it does could you please contact us at 1-877-281-8827, from 8am to 5pm (Eastern Standard Time) so we can help troubleshoot the issue with you. Thank you for you patience, we will make sure to take care of you.

I have the Ac417 monitor and my battery in the pad is dying or dead, the pad alarm goes off and shows me a plug. I have tried to find the battery to replace it and we cannot find it anywhere. The battery is CR3032H. Where can I find the battery?

Thank you for contacting Angelcare. The battery can be found at Radio shack, some Best buys, any electronic stores and online. Regards

Hello, Looking at buying the AC510 And additional camera. However I have been told you can only hear sound from one camera at a time even when on the split screen. Is this correct? I need sound to transmit from both cameras so I can hear both children

Thank you for contacting Angelcare. Yes, this is correct, you will only hear sound from the last camera selected. Regards,

I Bought AC417 for my new born. The sensor pad is activated but the warning goes off every 20seconds for no movement. I adjusted the sensitivity to the highest and lowest but no matter what the alarm goes off. How can I get the warning alarm not to go off

Asked by: Mike Z
Hello Mike, By warning, you mean the first beep or the full alarm? Please make sure the sensor pad is installed properly on a hard surface and that no sheets are in between the mattress and the sensor pad. I have few questions for you before testing the Sensor Pad itself: Is there a CR3032 battery inserted in the sensor pad? Is the + symbol on the battery facing up? Is the Camera connected as CAM 1? In the Pairing page of the settings menu, is there a + or trash can beside the sensor pad? In the Sensor Pad page of the settings menu is the toggle beside the sensor pad gray or blue? Is the toggle set to adapter or wifi? Young babies do have different sleeping/movement patterns compared to adults when sleeping, this is normal. As baby grows, becomes more mobile in the crib coupled with extra layers, wet nappy, lying on their sides, hunches and in a favourite corner of the crib - these can make it harder for the pad to detect baby's movements. In such instances the sensitivity may need adjusting to allow for this as, the Sensor Pad can detect movement over the whole of the surface of your baby’s mattress, from corner to corner if it is at the correct level. Additionally it may be that the sensitivity has accidentally been changed in the settings, this can happen. Therefore, we firstly need to establish why this is occurring, whether your Sensor Pad is at the correct level for your baby`s mattress so can you please carry out the “Four Corner Test”, please see below for information on how to do this: NOTE: Please follow the process below within 20 seconds after turning ON both units otherwise the movement alarm will sound. Your baby must NOT be in the crib during this test. Firstly, please check the level that the sensitivity is set to, this is done by following these steps: Switch the Camera Unit & Parent Unit ON Tap the settings icon Tap the Sensor Pad Icon Tap the – (lower) or the + (raise) until sensitivity is at 2 - this is the factory setting and should only be adjusted if required Press the Save Icon on the bottom of the screen to save this setting Please Note if you do not carry out this step the monitor will revert to the setting it was previously on and you will need to begin again. Again now, follow the process below within 20 seconds otherwise the movement alarm will sound. Now, with the Sensor Pad placed in the middle of the crib underneath the mattress: *Gently place your hand in the furthest corner of the mattress & and wait for 20 seconds If the movement alarm (series of loud continuous beeps from the Parent & Camera Unit) does not sound carry this out on the remaining corners Remove your hand from the mattress and step away from the crib. The Sensor Pad is sensitive enough to detect your movement if you are touching the crib. **Due to the lack of movement, after 20 seconds the movement alarm (series of loud continuous beeps) will sound from the Parent & Camera Unit Step back to the crib and place your hand gently on the mattress, after a few seconds the alarm will cease as the Sensor Pad has detected your movement *If the alarm sounds when you place your hand in any of the corners please adjust the sensitivity by turning it up another bar as detailed in step 4 and repeat the Four Corner Test again **If however the monitor does not alarm when you step away from the crib reduce the sensitivity down 1 bar and repeat the Four Corner Test, keep adjusting this until the alarm sounds ensuring that movement is still detected in all four corners. We also know that the Sensor Pad will NOT work with a Hollow Framed, Dual Sided, Memory Foam Mattress; A Hollow Framed Mattress, it is basically a number of poles that are fitted together with a tight cover fitted over this. As a result of their being nothing actually inside the mattress (hollow) no movement is transferred down to the Sensor Pad. As a result the monitor may false alarm indicating that bab'ys movements are not being detected by the Sensor Pad. A full Memory Foam or Dual sided Memory Foam Mattress masks the movement of your baby on the surface of the mattress due to the density of the foam and baby's movements do not transfer down to the Sensor Pad. As a result the monitor may false alarm indicating that baby's movement is not being detected by the Sensor Pad. In some cases the monitor works properly for some months, then sends false alarms because of the use of the mattress. Does the monitor have to be plugged in at all times while in use?

Asked by: Jcmom
No. Think of it like a cell phone. At a full charge(as long as you turn it off when baby isn't in the crib) it lasts a couple days.

What is the range for the screen to be away from the monitor/sensor?  I'm finding it difficult to be anywhere in my house other than in the living room right outside babies room for it to work properly.

Asked by: swimgal02
Thanks for your question. The range of the AC417 is 820 feet on open space. Depending on your house configuration (wall, concrete, interference with other devices) the range can be smaller.

I want to be able to use this device with our crib (during the day) but at night I will place th sensor pad under the bassinet mattress in our master bedroom.  Do I need to move the camera close to bassinet or can I use parent monitor and turn off camera?

Asked by: Katm23
Thank you for your interest in Angelcare Monitors. We do not recommend using the monitors in a Pack & Play, co- sleeper or in a bassinet. The sensor pad must be installed in a sturdy bed with a firm bottom that will not move in order for it to function properly. Sincerely
