Angelcare’s Baby Breathing Monitor with Video tracks activity and reports directly to concerned parents, giving them the ultimate peace of mind. The AC417’s touchscreen movement, video and audio monitor offers the only wireless breathing Sensor Pad in the market and features activity tracking, which reports on baby's movement levels. Rest assured knowing that you will be alerted if no movement is detected after 20 seconds. Ideal for newborns, and those starting to reach and explore. Use without the Sensor Pad for those early toddler years. With Angelcare, you’re not alone in this new adventure called parenthood.

The Movement Sensor Pad can be used with most baby mattresses. However, it cannot be used with memory foam mattresses or mattresses with a hollow frame.

Monitoring of premature baby or babies considered to be at risk, should be carried out only under the supervision of a Doctor or Health Professional. This monitor should NOT be used as a medical device, nor as a device to prevent Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).

Rated 2 out of 5 by from OK video- questionable sensor This monitor is just ok though I question whether it is worth the money. We have the AC417 and although it is a great idea in theory we aren't sure it's worth the money. The video is grainy and sadly doesn't come with great hook to attach to wall. You can't pan around the room so visuals are limited. The sensor is supposed to go off after 20sec of no movements but my guess is it's at best 45seconds. I've tried a few other monitors (owlet, regular monitor) so it is nice that this one comes with video and sensor, but a few upgrades like better more high quality video with a pan feature, better bolting system for wall or above crib and a larger more accurate sensor would work wonders.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WE LOVE THIS MONITOR! My husband and I absolutely love this monitor. I love the picture on the screen, the touchscreen feature, and the peace of mind it gives us. The movement pad works great, exactly 20 seconds after I pick up my baby it will start alerting me there is no movement if I don't remember to pause the monitor. I love the 2 way talk feature, and absolutely LOVE that it features the temp on the camera. It was super easy to set up, and very easy to use the monitor and its features. I would absolutely recommend this monitor to friends, and already have. Thank you to weeSpring Parent Panel for sending me this monitor to try and review!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Peace of mind! The initial setup for this monitor was difficult and the sensor kept going off until I could figure out how to turn it off. In addition, the touch screen didn't always work well. But once I figured out how to setup the monitor, I was pleasantly surprised. I really enjoy the sound sensitivity, the parent talk back feature, and the room temperature display. The image is pretty clear and the sensor really does give me peace of mind (now that I know how to use it). If I could make one recommendation, it would be nice to move the camera more from the hand held monitor. Thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel for sending me this monitor!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Peace of mind! I got the opportunity to try this monitor out as a part of the Weespring parenting panel and I'm so glad. Having a new pool put in recently and having a tiny baby, it's definitely given us a peace a mind when we are outside and she's quietly sleeping in the house. We can not only hear her but see her without having to come in and out, disturbing her sleep, just to check on her. I also love that you can shut the motion monitor off so we can use it when she's in her swing. The only negative would be that the range doesn't go too far in a larger house like ours. But it's definitely been great for what we need it for! Thank you for a great product and thank you Weespring!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great monitor that offers peace of mind My husband and I welcomed our first little one just a bit over a month ago, and we're so happy to have this monitor system. The movement pad offers us some wonderful peace of mind and works great. The picture on the monitor unit is really good and we both love the temperature indicator feature. Set-up took my husband a little while to do, but the system is easy to use. My only wish is that you could move the camera remotely from the handheld portion of the system. Overall, I'd recommend this to other parents. Thanks to the weeSpring Parent panel for giving me an opportunity to try this monitor system out!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great video monitor! This monitor has been a great upgrade for us from the basic one we started with. The magnetic swivel camera is awesome, and a lot easier to move around and adjust as our little guy changes his sleeping positions. The video screen is clearer than our previous monitor, which I've loved, because we can see how he's doing without squinting or going into his room to check on him. The screen is also bigger! We also set up the alarm and sensor, but did not end up using it, so I really liked that there was an option to disable that feature. Thanks to the weeSpring parent panel for sending us this monitor!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product This monitor was Better than expected: the screen was large and good color, it is a little touchy though. The two way sound was clearer than my previous monitor. I really enjoyed the temperature setting because that's always been a concern of mine with how our bedrooms are laid out. The pad is a little sensitive, we had a few false alarms which made for a nervous moment but all was ok. I like the option to remove the pad for an older child or If it keeps giving off false alarms. We only had one though. Overall it was a good product. I received this product as part of the weespring parent panel.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Don't love it but don't hate it either I had a hard time initially setting this monitor up. It automatically syncs the sensor and I couldn't get anything set up until I disconnected it. Overall the parent unit was easy to use and the screen was fairly clear. I was disappointed that I had to manually move the camera instead of being about to adjust it on the parent unit. I love the temperature feature! Makes it so much easier to know if I need to adjust how hot or cold it is in our little ones room. The movement sensor is such a great idea, but I had so many false alarms. I also never remembered to put it on pause when I took my little one out to feed her. I got a chance to try this monitor as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel.

Set up unit, everything was working fine. Turned off the lights and night vision was working. A few minutes in the night vision turned off and I can't see anything in the room, blue icon bar is still showing. How do I get it back?

Asked by: Semara2539
Thank you for contacting Angelcare. If you only see the top blue icon bar and it only shows the battery charging it means you need to do the pairing once again. Please contact customer service 1-877-281-8827 for assistance or revert back to the owners manual for pairing instructions. Thank you

I have the 417. In the past week, the monitor has gone off 4x's (never gone off before this wk). The last two, it stopped before we got to baby. Is that a function (iow, does it turn itself off if baby starts breathing gain), or is this a malfunction?

Asked by: CMommy
Thank you for contacting the helpline. How the Sensor Pad Works To explain the alarms to you - if no movement is detected on the surface of baby`s mattress for 15 seconds you will hear the: -Rouse Alarm – this is a single beep from the Nursery Unit only which can rouse baby out of a deep sleep. If you hear the Rouse Alarm only this means that the Sensor Pad has helped to re-establish baby’s sleeping pattern, and will carry on monitoring baby. If after a further 5 seconds there is still no movement detected on the surface of the mattress you will hear the: -Main Alarm – this is a series of loud continuous beeps from both the Nursery Unit & Parent Unit (if switched on). This indicates that your monitor has not re-established baby’s sleeping pattern.

Does the Ac417 parent unit have an alarm that alerts if the temperature is to cold or hot?  Toddler will be sleeping upstairs so would like to know if it gets to cold or hot while we’re asleep.

How long does the battery typically last in the sensor pad? We’ve used the monitor and pad for approximately six months now and have had a couple of nights where the alarm continues to go off. Could it be the battery in the sensor pad or something else?

Asked by: MFH86
Thanks for purchasing an Angelcare Monitor. The Sensor Pad battery last about 4 months. When the Sensor Pad battery is low-battery the Parent Unit will send you an alert and will indicated it's low-bat in the top corner of the Parent Unit. If replacing the Sensor Pad battery doesn't resolve the alarm going off, please communicate with us at

I have some questions: 1- is it possible a false alarm from the movement monitor? 2- how could I test it? 3- If the baby moviment during the nigth and change position, the monitor can do a false alarme? how big should be this movement from false alarm?

Asked by: Adriana
Yes, it is possible to experience false alarms. When experiencing false alarms we recommend increasing the sensitivity of the sensor pad. To test the sensor pad, turn the monitor on and gently place your hand on the mattress, do not rub or push down. If the alarm sounds, increase the sensitivity further and test again until it does not alarm. Certain sleep positions can result in false alarms, sleeping on his/her side, or on his/her tummy with his/her bum in the air. The reason being is the rib cage is no longer in full contact with the mattress and the sensor pad is designed to detect the movement of the rib cage. Also, if baby moves to the edges and corners of the mattress, this may result in false alarms as the outer edge of the mattress is much firmer to help keep its shape making it harder for movement to be transferred through. Increasing the sensitivity usually resolves this issue.

Hi,  Sorry if this has already been asked. Is there a way to shut off the sensor and just use this as a regular monitor?

Asked by: Willie
Yes, the sensor pad function can be turned off through the sensor pad page of the settings menu. The top toggle should be grey and the changes will need to be saved.

Hi I have 2 questions for you: 1) can we use the sensor pad with a dual-sided mattress? 2) can we use the sensor pad in a bassinet or a moses? Thank you

Asked by: David
The sensor pad can be used with a dual sided mattress as long as the toddler side does not contain memory foam; the sensor pad cannot be used with memory foam. We do not recommend using the monitors in a Pack & Play, co- sleeper or in a bassinet. The sensor pad must be installed in a sturdy bed with a firm bottom that will not move in order for it to function properly.

Where does the alarm sound? Is it in the parent unit, or part of the system in the baby's room? I have heard parents say that when their baby roles off the pad the alarm goes off and wakes them up.

Asked by: patrick
The alarm will sound on both units if no movement is detected after 20 seconds. If false alarms occur, the sensitivity of the sensor pad can be adjusted to reduce the risk.

Can I use a second movement sensor and a second camera? to monitor 2 different cribs? the instruction manual mentions I can add an accessory movement sensor but i don't understand how this will work.

Asked by: Lincoln2017
You cannot add a second movement sensor to model AC417. The accessory movement sensor pad mentioned in the manual is for model # AC510 as it does not already come with a sensor pad. If you want to add another movement sensor for a second crib, we would recommend a movement only (model # AC300) to avoid potential interference between units. You can, however, add a second camera to the AC417 (model # AC-CAM).
