Stopped WorkingMy daughter is about to turn 6 months old and this monitor just stopped working. It started with the parent monitors saying they were out of range every time we turned the nursery unit off when we got her out of bed. When we had her in bed and the nursery unit on it seemed to work so I brushed it off. Last night when I went to get her out of bed I forgot to turn off the nursery unit, which it would then detect as her not breathing and would set off the alarm, but it never alarmed. We were unable to get it to alarm, and have decided to give up on this unit all together.

great productWe bought this unit for our first daughter in 2015 and used it for our second in 2017. When the baby was big enough to roll around, we removed the motion monitor part and just used the sound. We liked that it displayed the temperature in the bedroom too. We never experienced any issues with ours. My sister is now using the unit for her daughter born 8/2018.
Can this monitor be used for twins in the same cot?
If not what would you recommend?
Thanks a lot

Thank you for your interest in the Angelcare range.
Basically, the only rule of monitoring the movement of twins (or more than 1 baby) using a Sensor Pad is, One crib, One baby, One Sensor Pad. Therefore you would require 2 separate baby monitors.
You cannot monitor twins in the same crib, the reason being that the Sensor Pad is that sensitive it will pick up the movements from both babies. The Sensor Pad is designed to detect movement and it cannot differentiate which baby the movement is coming from.
This would mean that if there was no movement detected for example from baby 1, the monitor will not alarm as the Sensor Pad will still be detecting movement from baby 2.
In addition you cannot use more than one Sensor Pad in the crib (i.e. one pad under each baby) as the pad is that sensitive it can detect movement over the whole of the surface of the mattress, from corner to corner and not just baby lying above it.
To explain the alarms to you – with one Sensor Pad in a crib with one baby, if no movement is detected on the surface of the mattress for 15 seconds you will hear the:
Rouse Alarm – this is a single beep from the Nursery Unit only which can rouse baby out of a deep sleep. If you hear the rouse alarm only this means that the Sensor Pad has helped to re-establish your baby’s sleeping pattern, and will carry on monitoring your baby.
If after a further 5 seconds there is still no movement detected on the surface of the mattress you will hear the:
Main Alarm – this is a series of loud continuous beeps from both the Nursery/Camera Unit & Parent Unit (if switched on). This indicates that your monitor has not re-established your baby’s sleeping pattern.
You can use a simple combination of Angelcare monitors for twins, however it is not possible to connect 2 monitors together whatever the model, they will independently of each other. You would need 2 separate monitors.
Our recommendation would be to purchase an Angelcare Baby Breathing Monitor AC017. This is perfect for parents who already own an Angelcare Breathing Monitor. The AC017 will complement your original monitor by adding Breathing Movement monitoring on the second mattress to your current setup. It’s particularly useful if you need to monitor twins and 2 little ones in the same room.
Unfortunately though it is not recommended you use more than one/and/or the following Angelcare Monitors in the same house/apartment/flat:
Angelcare AC1100 Video, Wired Movement & Sound Monitor
Angelcare AC1300 Video, Wired Movement & Sound Monitor
Angelcare AC315 Baby Breathing Monitor with Video
Angelcare AC417 Baby Breathing Monitor with Video
Angelcare AC517 Baby Breathing Monitor with Video
This is because these monitors work on a Digital Frequency so they automatically pick the best channel to work on. Therefore if you are using more than one in the same house, the monitors can interfere will each other and as a result may not function properly i.e. the signal on one monitor can drop out and you will lose the display and sound.
However, you can use any one of the above video range with any of the following monitors - however you do not have the video option on this range:
Angelcare AC401/AC401 Wired Movement & Sound Baby Monitor/Wired Movement & Sound Baby Monitor Deluxe
Angelcare AC403 Wired Movement & Sound Baby Monitor
Angelcare AC601 Wired Movement & Sound Baby Monitor
Angelcare AC117 Baby Breathing Monitor with Sound
Angelcare AC115 Baby Breathing Monitor with Sound

Can the movement pad be used with the Colgate Eco Classica III 2-in-1 mattress that has foam on the toddler side of the mattress?
Asked by: Slynhogg
First let me thank you for your interest in Angelcare monitors.
The monitor can be used with a foam mattress or spring coils. The only thing to watch for with all types of foam mattress is that over a long period of time they can take the shape of the sensor which then makes the sensor less sensitive. The solution to this is to regularly turn the mattress.
I would suggest adding a piece of plywood to the base of the bed. This plywood does not need to be much bigger than the sensor pad but at least a ¼ inch thick. This will keep the sensor pad in constant contact with the mattress should your baby move around.
The thickness of the mattress makes no difference.
Here are mattresses that cannot be used with the Angelcare monitor:
Purflo mattress: Because the mattress only supports around the edge there is nothing to transfer the movements.
Memory foam mattress: the mattress taking the shape of the sensor and becoming less sensitive.
Dual sided mattresses, because the toddler side is soft and can cause false alarms when facing down.
Hope this will help,
