This award-winning baby Movement & Sound Monitor system is both pretty and practical. Slide the Sensor Pad under the crib mattress and its motion detectors will pick up the slightest movements, whether baby is sound asleep or wide awake. Plus, like music to your ears, you’ll hear every little sound coming from baby’s room on your portable Parent Unit, which features a full color digital display, nursery temperature display and other extras designed to give you the peace of mind you need to get a good night’s sleep too.

The Breathing Sensor Pad can be used with most baby mattresses. However, it cannot be used with memory foam mattresses or mattresses with a hollow frame.

Monitoring of premature baby or babies considered to be at risk, should be carried out only under the supervision of a Doctor or Health Professional. This monitor should NOT be used as a medical device, nor as a device to prevent Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely love it After a family member lost their child to SIDS i was terrified of something happening so i got this monitor while i was still pregnant. I have had it going every nap time and night for 2years and i can honestly say i have no issues with it. I can clearly hear every sound she makes, you can set room temperature alerts, the parent unit is fully changable to suit any individual preferance - from light sleeper to heavy sleeper or 'want to hear everything' to 'just tell me when there is a problem'.I highly recommend this to everyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Product! Favorite Baby Equipment Ever! I cannot rant and rave about this monitor enough. We purchased it after a nurse friend lost her 5 month nephew to breathing issue in his crib. She purchases this monitor for her first child after that happend and highly recommend it.This is by far my favorite baby equipment ever. The peace of mind thos monitor provides is worth every penny The accuracy of the movement monitor was excellent. We used until our daughters were over 1. I’ve recommended this to several friends, all who love it!Get one! You won’t regret it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product! I purchased this almost 15 years ago. It was/is the best thing ever! I continue to purchase this item for parents to be as it has become my "go to" gift. I cannot tell you how many times they thank me for such a thoughtful gift! I absolutely love it & am getting ready to buy another today. *Some of my responses below might not match with what I am saying here. My first couple of purchases were in a store, the others were online. Also, mine was not available with camera or temperature read out 15 years ago.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good monitor I got this 3 years ago for my daughter and we are still using it today but without the motion sensor. It has held up well, but about a year ago, the digital display of the temp started breaking apart. For example, if the temperature is 72 degrees in the room, it will only display part of the 7 and part of the 2. It mutes out for a second whenever the temp changes, which can be distracting and concerning when you don\'t know why it\'s happening. Overall a good product that provided me with years of comfort.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hard to set up. Just beeps. Expensive. I recommend you dont even buy this. Everything should be included; but is not. Annoying and expensive. Would rather the two of us split the time and watched the baby. Support is quite frankly rubbish

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gives me peace of mind I used this monitor for my now 2 year old and for my newest baby. It gave me peace of mind while sleeping. I never worried about my babies stopping breathing while they slept because it has the alarm. There were a few false alarms because baby can scoot to the edge of the crib and the sensor can\'t pick up the breathing. However, I almost appreciate the false alarms because it lets me know the sensor is working. Even if it scares me half to death anytime the alarm goes off.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broken within months What a terrible monitor. The LCD lights stopped working a few months after we started using it. So we couldn't use any of the functions that make this such an expensive monitor. Unable to purchase a new one we continued using the monitor without any functions except sound. Then static noises started happening and couldn't be fixed because the monitor screens don't work. Less than 2 years after we unwrapped our monitor we've had no choices but to get rid of it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works but only once baby is sleeping in their crib I got this before we had our son 4 yrs ago. It worked great and gave me peace of mind once my son moved into his room and slept in his crib. In order for the movement monitor to work, you have to have a piece of plywood under the crib mattress. There was no way to correctly install it in our pack-in-play bassinet where my son slept in our room for his first 7 months. I still use the sound part of the monitor in my son\'s room and it is still going strong.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Clear sound but disappointed in movement sensor. I bought this after my son was born and was sleeping alone in room. Pro\'s - the Price is decent and the sound is very clear. The sound monitor has a pretty impressive range on it and certainly exceeded my expectations. Con\'s- The movement monitor was not accurate in the crib and the only way to fix the problem was to place a solid piece of ply board underneath the mattress. The board did seem to fix the problem. Overall I was satisfied with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the features Had this with my first and now with number 2. Love the night light on the base, perfect amount of light. You can also turn the light itself off. Charge lasts for 2 days for us, but we generally charge it every night. Love that it shows the temp in her room. A tad tricky to set up but not bad. Never had interfere issues. We chose not to use the sensor pad because it would go off more than needed and wake/scare baby, even when just playing in her crib.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice monitor I have used this over the past 4 years for two of my kids and really like it. I love the comfort of the movement alarm, although it will give false alarms once baby starts moving around more in the crib. The display on mine no longer works properly so I will need a new monitor for baby number three, but this has been a trusted and reliable monitor, especially for infants.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great monitor We have been using this since day one in the crib. It\'s nice to have a peace of mind. It was a bit tricky setting up, but it\'s easy once that\'s done. We have had two false alarms when my baby was tiny and scrunched herself all the way down and to one side of the crib. Since she\'s grown, it picks her up better.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Color LCD screens stopped working on both units LCD screens on both remotes stopped working. I'd guess this must be a realatively common problem or at least related to remotes manufactured in a particular time frame.Contacted customer service for warranty. The item was a shower gift, we couldn't get support or warranty replacement without a receipt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly recommended!!! Because of this monitor, I can sleep at night! It has went off twice. Once was just the warning beep, the second was the whole alarm. My baby was in a deep sleep both times and jumped when we got to him and woke him up.. I don\'t want to imagine what could have happened if we didn\'t have this monitor!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Difficult to install, good features I received this as a gift. I found it really overwhelming to install. You have to buy plywood and it wouldn\'t fit in my car. The monitor is great and I love the temperature alarm settings. My little ones cries sound metallic which grates on my nerves but I\'m sure that\'s every monitor.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good monitor This was a good monitor, and we will use again with our 3rd child on the way, however, the movement sensor never seemed to work right for us (although we will give it another try). It was just too sensitive. The sounds quality is fantastic, and I love the digital display on the handsets.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the sensor pad I\'ve had this monitor for nearly 5 years and just recently has the monitor started not working as well. I love the sensor pad that sounds an alarm within 20 seconds if baby is not breathing. The only downside of this monitor is it does not have video.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Peace of mind I registered for this because I needed some peace of mind with my baby. It works for that, but I can\'t figure out how to get it to work like a regular monitor so I can hear my baby in another room. I think this feature may be broken on my monitor.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Provides peace of mind We have had this from birth for our son. You need to have a piece of plywood under the mattress for this to work accurately. We did have several false alarms if he would scrunch up in the corner of his crib, but overall it provides peace of mind.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It\'s okay but not needed I got this monitor and I really loved the concept of it. I feel like it\'s a great idea, but unfortunately I really don\'t use it as much as I thought I would. My baby doesn\'t like sleeping in her crib yet and we just really didn\'t need it.

Is there a mode that allows two parent units be used without the nursey unit to detect sound ? (Placing one parent unit in room with child and having one parnet unit on your person)

Asked by: Paulnz
Hello, The nursery unit or camera is the one that transmits sound to the parent unit. It won't be possible to have to receivers (parents units) alone. Thank you Angelcare

Hi! We don't use the sensory pad at present. Yesterday the Nursery Unit began beeping after 30 seconds. It didn't do this previously. Could it be that the Nursery Units' batteries are flat? What else could be the problem?

We have just set up our monitor and it lets of a beep every 5 seconds. It isn’t a warning beep. We aren’t quite sure if this is normal?

Asked by: Morris66
Thanks for contacting Angelcare Monitor. Your monitor is probably low battery. Firstly, can I ask, when you please the Parent Unit on the Charging Cradle, does the battery symbol illuminate to indicate that the Parent Unit is charging? If not, then the batteries are not inserted correctly. Please when inserting the batteries ensure that they are inserted correctly. If you cannot see the battery icon in the top right hand corner, then the batteries are not inserted correctly. This would explain why when you take the Parent Unit off the charging Cradle it is switching itself off. Please see below for “Inserting Batteries Correctly” information below. In addition to this, have you recently replaced the rechargeable batteries? Angelcare recommend that you change the batteries approx. every 6 months. The cells depreciate over time as they are constantly charged and can give a false reading and the Parent Unit can switch back on albeit for a short amount of time – please see below for “Rechargeable Battery Information”. If this does not help you, please contact with your local distributor: Valiant Enterprises 323, Warrigal Rd Cheltenham 3192 Victoria, Melbourne +61 3 9581 8000 fax: +61 3 9581 8088

Our bassinet mattress is thin and we’ve had one accident where my infant wet himself and it leaked out the side. The mattress was wet in the morning. Does this pose any risks if the pad gets wet?

Asked by: Brkim
Thank you for contacting the helpline. With regards to your query we hope that we can offer you some information as to why this issue has occurred and how to remedy it. You will be experiencing this problem due to a simple build-up of moisture at the base of the mattress. Unfortunately moisture on the underneath of a baby or adult mattress can happen, especially with foam mattresses. This is because the foam mattress can soak up the moisture emitted by whomever is sleeping on the mattress. This moisture is not able to effectively escape due to it being trapped between a plastic pad, wooden ply and a mattress. This coupled with humidity in general does in some cases lead to mould on the mattress whether using a Sensor Pad or not. This is a natural occurrence, a build-up of moisture is quite common and is easily remedied by turning the mattress regularly and aerating the whole bed area (removing all covers and standing the mattress in a dry area or by a radiator for a few hours periodically). Most mattress manufacturers do advise to do this on a regular basis. Sometimes a mattress protector can help to protect the mattress as you can remove and wash this. With regards to the Sensor Pad itself we want to confirm to you that there is no heat or electrical source within the Sensor Pad, it is a totally passive unit. The Angelcare Sensor Pad can be compared to a microphone: where a microphone converts tiny vibrations in the air (sound) into a signal, the Sensor Pad converts movement vibrations ply from the mattress into a tiny signal. The Sensor Pad has a large collecting surface (the top) which transfers movements and concentrates them in the centre of the pad. Baby’s movements do not have to be directly on top of the pad as the mattress itself will transfer the vibration forces (but not quite so effectively). These small vibration forces concentrated in the centre of the pad are detected by a Piezo Crystal. The crystal has the property of producing a small signal in proportion to the change in force applied to it. Angelcare do advise, as per the Instruction Manual, to ensure that you drill some holes in the plywood and to rotate the mattress regularly to allow air circulation and to prevent any build-up of such moisture. This will allow any moisture particles to evaporate from the mattress, all mattresses will contain some moisture but by allowing a little to escape on a regular basis will prevent a build-up which may lead to the occurrence of mould. To clean your mattress we would advise you to follow the manufacturer's instructions or to gently clean with warm soapy water and allow to fully air dry. We do hope that this information we have given helps to allay any concerns that you may have, if you have any further queries regarding this or the information that we have given please do let us know.
