Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible battery I bought this product after having used the Anglecare sound only monitor for almost 10 months. We only bought this one because we wanted the video feature and loved the quality of our previous AC. However, the parent monitor battery life is a joke! It worked for a few weeks, but now it lasts 10-15 minutes off of the charger before beeping and dying. The point of a monitor is so that I can go freely around the house or garden and have eyes on my LO, but this does not allow for it because it has to be plugged in. Very disappointed. I would never recommend this model to a new parent.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very poor battery life We have been using our monitor since our daughter moved to her own room in march. The monitor battery lasts 4 hours, so over night it is left plugged in to ensure I'm not unnecessary woken for low battery. The rest of the time (during the day it was unplugged and moved round house with us) it has been in use for just 6 months and the monitor no longer holds its charge. Once unplugged you only have to look at video monitor twice before low battery alarm starts. This is not a cheap product and I would expect far better quality. Very disappointed, wouldn't recommend unless you only want to use it for 6 months.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great Features, Terrible Battery Life Was given this monitor for my baby shower, last November. Daughter was born late Dec, started using early January. From the start, the battery only lasts one nap, 2-3 hours before going completely dead. Then it requires 24 hours to charge, but the battery indicator never shows full, always 2/3 full. Therefore, it must always be plugged in. So, not portable at all if I want to work in another part of the house. I have to move the plug with me. I love everything else about this product, except the battery.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Unit, Instructions and Interface are Garbage I like the features of this unit, but the instructions are not overly helpful in trying to figure the thing out and the user interface leaves a lot to be desired. It took me many tries to do simple things like toggle the VOX mode (it's the microphone icon not mentioned in the instructions) or turn up and down the volume on the parent unit (you need to be on the video screen - it's not in the settings menu). Other than those issues I am pretty satisfied. It doesn't have the option to speak to the child but I'm not sure I care that much. Hopefully I don't run into the battery life issue that seems to plague these.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Battery Life & Charger Reliability We received this as a gift off of our Target registry. Within 1 year of use the battery life on the parent unit has died. Also, one of the chargers is broken so we can no longer use both the parent and nursery unit. The movement sensor is VERY sensitive if your baby moves to the edges of the crib. We recommend turning down the sensitivity as well as stopping use once your baby is mobile to avoid the nightly scares. We stopped use once our baby could roll in his crib. Reached out to customer service and they will not help us so we need to buy new. Not worth the cost when the product is unreliable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of Money We purchased this simply because we camp a lot and needed the ability to run the child end on batteries. The video quality is horrible, the sound quality sucks. It has no talkback feature. You pay all that money simply for the sensor pad which we will never use. The video does not turn on when there is noise in the room so you have to manually turn it on. The product is not intuitive, you have to read the instructions to do anything. I expected more out of this as our first monitor was a $90 monitor from a different company and the sound and video was amazing. This product failed in everything it offered

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Save your money I bought this during the sale and was excited at the large discount. However i will be returning it. It's a neat monitor in theory, looks nice. But the battery life on the parent unit lasted less than 3 hours after the factory directed 9 hours of charging and I didn't turn the screen out of screen saver mode more than twice. That is absolutely terrible for the money you are spending. The video camera is VERY limited in manouverability and where you have to put it in order to properly see you right child which is also disappointing. What the box doesn't tell you is that the motion detector cannot work with all mattresses either which defeats the purpose so do your research.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Low Baterry Life and Sound Quality My daughtbwas born in November. From the beginning I didnt use it much, and just started really using it in the last month or so. From day 1, the battery life was horrible. At this point, it lasts an hr before it starts beeping for low battery, and it takes forever to fully charge. Also, the sound is extremely low. Its supposed to be low, and turn up if the baby is crying, but even then I have to strain to hear. Had to buy a new one, because theres no way I can use this once my daughter is in her own room overnight, or even for naps. Also it starts making loud static sounds if the units are near each other, making it difficult to adjust the position accurately. And for the movement monitor, you're supposed to nail it to a wooden board. Seriously, I paid enough, it shouldn't be this much work.

How many mW does Angelcare baby monitor AC 1300 emit?

Asked by: Larsen
Thank you for contacting Angelcare. Having spoken with our technical manager, we can clarify the following concerning Radiation safety: The under the mattress device, Angelcare sensor pad, transmits Bluetooth Low energy on the 2,4 GHz frequency to the Nursery Unit (no camera on 117 model) if using the wireless version. The Bluetooth Low Energy radio uses very low power emission standard, about 1000 times less than our cell-phones. This is one of the reason why a lot of blue-tooth earpieces came out in the market after cell-phones became our daily routine, to reduce the radiation we are exposed to when making calls. The Angelcare Sensor Pad uses one of the lowest power output setting of the Bluetooth Low Energy standard. Radiation of radio frequency (RF) devices is measured by Special absorption rate (SAR). It is a measure of the rate at which energy is absorbed by the body when exposed to a radio frequency electromagnetic field. Our devices are tested and considered to all EU safety standards/Directives including SAR and meet the safety radiation levels for their specific applications. The Angelcare Sensor Pad will transmit at very short intervals on initial pairing, after connection with NU they perform power saving ‘Bluetooth handshakes’ at very short intervals for data syncing. In effect you could say that the unit is always on (unless sensor pad is in pause function) but there are small intervals of between 0.8s (syncing) and 2s (transmitting for pairing and transmitting when there is a need to send an alarm). Regards,

We love our Angelcare AC1300 Movement and Video monitor. We have another baby on the way. Can we purchase another camera and movement pad and view both children on the same monitor?  Do we purchase a whole other monitor and watch on two screens?

Asked by: Alichele
Thank you for your interest in Angelcare Monitor. Unfortunately you can't add an extra camera to the AC1300 model. This is something we added to our new products (AC315, AC517, AC417), after receiving a lot of requests from our customer. You can purchase our monitors on our website as per the accessory camera sold separately.

While plugged in or not, after a certain amount of time ( not even 5 minutes) the screen goes black and you have to walk up to it and press the video button to get the screen back? Terrible. Whats going on?

Asked by: Frustrated
Thank you for contacting Angelcare Monitors. It is recommended that should you wish to use the Parent Unit in Video Mode (out of power save mode) for long periods of time whilst also using continuous sound transmission that you keep the Parent Unit plugged into the AC Adaptor. Please see below for information on how to set the Power Save Mode. This is indicative of any product (such as your mobile phone) that constantly streams information, video etc. This function uses more power that when any unit is standby/power save mode. Many parents who wish to constantly stream video and monitor continuous sound purchase an additional AC Adaptor. How to select/change the preferred Screensaver time/setting: 1- Press the MENU/SELECT button to access MAIN MENU 2- Select the SETTINGS icon to access the SUB MENU 3- Select the Screen Saver Icon 4- Press the MENU/SELECT so that the icon edge is BLUE 5- Use the UP or DOWN arrow to select the preferred VIDEO display mode (OFF or set to 30 seconds, 1 min, 2 mins or 3 mins) 6- Press the MENU/SELECT so that the icon edge is GREEN to save the preferred setting 7- Press the VIDEO ON/OFF button to save your setting and return to the video screen Please Note – If you do not press the MENU/SELECT so that the icon edge is GREEN to save the preferred setting it will revert to the previous setting and you will need to begin again When the Parent Unit has the video screen on constantly as with all cordless devices this will naturally drain the re-chargeable batteries when it is not plugged into the AC,. Hope it helps!

When we pause the movement sensor, the light flashes on the camera. How do I pause it without having the light come on? Can I do this from the parent unit?

Asked by: TylerInDallas
Hello, Unfortunately you cannot leave this light off. It serves as a reminder that the unit is paused. Thank you

The screen keeps going off after a couple of minutes and I have to press the button for it to come back on. Is this normal or should the screen be on all the time?

Asked by: Gilly86
Yes, this is normal if the screen saver function is turned on. For continuous video the screen saver must be turned off.
