Angelcare’s AC017 Baby Breathing Movement Monitor allows parents to relax while baby is resting. This simple system monitors breathing movement while baby is sleeping. Our patented Baby Breathing Movement Sensor Pad is designed to be placed under baby’s crib mattress where it senses subtle movements while baby sleeps.

This is perfect for parents who already own an Angelcare Breathing Monitor. The AC017 will complement your original monitor by adding Breathing Movement monitoring on the second mattress to your current setup. It’s particularly useful if you need to monitor twins and 2 little ones in the same room.

Do you already own another brand of baby monitor but want to add in Movement monitoring for extra peace of mind now baby is here? The AC017 is perfect because it tracks the tiniest of movements and it will work with any other brand of baby monitor.

The AC017 features Angelcare’s new completely wireless Sensor Pad. Parents concerned with cords or cables can rest easy knowing our new Baby Breathing Movement Sensor Pad is totally self-contained and communicates wirelessly to the Nursery Unit. This makes it a great travel monitor.

The Breathing Sensor Pad can be used with most baby mattresses. However, it cannot be used with memory foam mattresses or mattresses with a hollow frame.

Monitoring of premature baby or babies considered to be at risk, should be carried out only under the supervision of a Doctor or Health Professional. This monitor should NOT be used as a medical device, nor as a device to prevent Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wireless and Wonderful!! Thank you to the WeeSpring Parent panel for this monitor!! I love the Angelcare movement monitor. I had an Angelcare monitor years ago with my first born, but this newer model has great improvements. First, I absolutely love that it is wireless! This is great for safety, but also because you can arrange the crib wherever you want in the nursery without worrying about reaching an outlet. Being a former preemie Mom, having a movement sensor is very important to me. The peace of mind it provides is priceless!! When we travel, we can also easily bring this along without dealing with wires and cords, and still have peace of mind that our baby is sleeping safely.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great idea, but... I was able to get this product as pet of the weeSpring Parent Panel and I was really excited to try it out. Unfortunately, it took forever for my husband and I to figure out how to get the monitor to work properly. It just kept going off, even when the baby was awake in the crib. We were finally able to get it right and I do appreciate the peace of mind it gives, but with my son still waking in the middle of the night sometimes, it can be a bit much for the monitor to start beeping very loudly because the baby isn't there. The monitor has actually woken up my older child and the volume can't be adjusted. I do love that there are no wires!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Peace of mind! I bought this monitor as an alternative to the owlet. I work in health-care so I know a pulse ox is a great way to keep track of baby's health. However the owlet was way too expensive and had terrible reviews. I just wanted something to track my baby's breaking in case he accidently rolled on his belly or like some babies do, just forgot to breathe in deep sleep. I've been using it with no alarms for nearly two months until last night. I ran into my baby's room and lifted up a sound asleep baby who had forgotten to breathe. He startled awake and took a big breath. I started crying in relief. I'm so thankful for this monitor. I feel like it saved my baby's life. I can sleep even sounder now knowing it really does work. Thank you angelcare!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Neutral feeling about product I feel quite neutral about this product as it it hard to get used to not having a video to physically see my child with. In combination with video this device would be awesome. With startup the product beeps pretty loudly which did disrup my child sleep when putting her down. I find that there are false alarms often that kind of defeats the purpose of your are continually checking on your little one. I also didn’t find it to be thin enough under a bassinet mattress which is when I was most concerned about using this product for. I did receive this product from weespring parent panel in exchange for my honest opinion of the product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Easy to set up and use I liked the monitor because it is wireless, however I did not like that there is no video component with this monitor. Also, because the bottom of my baby's crib is wire, I had to use a separate piece of wood in order for the monitor to be on a flat surface. I was very impressed with the sensitivity of the sensor as it did not go off at all with the baby in the crib (even sleeping in the corner away from the sensor), but immediately would alert if the baby was removed. If you're a parent who is losing sleep worrying about your baby, I would highly recommend the Angelcare Monitor. Thank you to the WeeSpring Parent Panel for sending me the monitor to review.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Peace of Mind but not necessary I received this product from the wee spring parent panel. I was excited to try it out. Although I am not a first time mom, I would still worry about my little one when he would sleep. This did provide me some peace of mind. I did have some trouble setting it up, but once it was set up, it was super easy to use. I would have liked if it came with a video monitor though. I did feel like it gave some false alarms, but you can adjust the sensitivity and that helped. All and all it delivered as promised, I just felt that as the baby gets older, it really isn't necessary and a video monitor worked better for me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product When I got this product I was very excite to try it out. I’m a preemie mom x2 so having some kind of monitor is a huge plus for me since my boys we’re on monitors 24/7 in hospital. I love that you can adjust the sensitivity and it’s easy to set up & not a bunch of wires. It can be a little loud when baby is removed but although I didn’t experience it, I’m sure the loud volume would be nice if something actually was wrong to alert you. I did need the board to set it on so that it was on a flat surface but wasn’t a deal breaker. I think if you need peace of mind and don’t have a huge budget this is nice solution. Thank you weespring parent panel for allowing me to try this out.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not a nursery must-have! I received this product thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel! This was a confusing product to get the hang of when all you're listening for is beeps. This is definitely NOT a necessary nursery product and was more of a hassle than anything. Assembly was super easy, but when you set up the receiver, and attach the stand, it covers up some of the buttons on the back...no matter which direction you face it. My biggest fear was that it would be too sensitive to whether or not my baby was breathing and would start beeping while she was sleeping. I'd rather just go in and check on her through the night!

Asked by: Hsod93
Thank you for contacting Angelcare. No, the AC017 does not require an WIFI or app connection to function. It has a bluetooth like connection. Have a great day.

Our monitor keeps just randomly shutting off in the middle if the night. We have the AC017. Is there any reasoning behind this? How do we prevent it?

Asked by: AndriesMama
Hello and thank you for your question. We are sorry to hear of the difficulties you are encountering with your AC017 Monitor. There may be several reasons why the units may be powering off during the night, and is it during the night only that you are having these issues. 1-Is there new batteries in both of the units, as they should be verified and checked on a regular basis; alkaline batteries in the Nursery unit and a CR3032 battery in the Sensor pad. 2-Would you please verify that the Nursery unit is still connected with the Sensor Pad; see below Power ON Nursery Unit Press the Pause / Pairing Button on the Nursery Unit You will hear a beep and the ring will flash blue indicating connected 3-You should not use any crib mobile or accessories, as they may interfere with the perfomance of your monitor 4-Is the Sensor pad being used in a stationary crib, as it needs to be placed on a firm, solid surface in order to pick up any movement above These are only a few examples of why your monitor may be cutting out, however if none of the above resolve the issues that you are encountering, please contact our Customer Service helpline at 1-877-281-8827, Monday-Friday, 8am -5pm EST

Can this be used in a bassinet?

Asked by: TS108
Hi and thank you for your question. The Sensor Pad is ment to work under a regular mattress. the bassinets often has a cardboard piece under the foam and it is this piece that would rest on the Sensor Pad. We do not recommend the use in a bassinet for this reason.

In the nightmarish event that my cat will lie down with my son, next to him, or even worse over him, and therefore block his ability to breath. Will angelcare alert me or it will detect my cats breathing/movement as normal baby activity?

Asked by: Sofiav8
Thanks for your question. As the Sensor Pad is sprung (the top and bottom are separated internally by springs in the each corner), it is the buoyancy of the springs that collects the vibrations from movements, amplifies it and transmits it to the Nursery Unit. If you cat is on the bed, the Sensor Pad will track breathing movement of your cat and the alarm won't go OFF. The Sensor Pad can't make the difference between the breathing of a baby or a cat. If you need any further advice please do let us know.
